　　段延庆一直处心积虑重得大理皇位，他先抓去段誉和木婉清幽禁於万劫谷石屋中，段延庆暗中给两人服下春药阴阳合和散，险些发生了乱伦关系（其后发现双方没有血缘关系），后因与拈花寺黄眉僧于石屋对奕而分心，使段誉和木婉清被救去

　　可是还是毕竟有不相似的地方。段思明夺位之时，自身力量不足，不得已联合了李氏、高氏、董氏三大贵族。大理国建立之后，李氏、高氏、董氏成了段氏皇族不得不倚靠的重臣，段氏皇族周旋于三大贵族之间，倒也游刃有余。但是，140年之后，大理发生了一件大事。
　　大理礼佛，每年都要开坛讲经。大理的第八任皇帝孝德帝段思廉晚年退位为僧，儿子段义廉继位为大理第九任皇帝，称为上德帝。上德帝在位的第六个年头，举办天龙八部弘法大会，有个叫杨义贞的领主也带着随从来到大理，此人野心勃勃，一心篡位，在朝拜天龙八部时，竟然将段义廉刺杀在佛殿，然后直接篡位，称广安帝。
