王重阳为什么要建活死人墓最后让给林朝英

　　王重阳出身于一个家业丰厚的富裕家庭。他的一生正值北宋沦亡，金人入侵，民族灾难深重的时代。青年时代，他痛祖国之沦亡，悯民族之不振，曾于天春年间应过文、武试，得中文、武双举人，有志于拯救民族危难。但由于南宋政权孱弱，舍弃广大北方人民不顾，苟且偏安，王重阳的抱负没有能够施展。
　　抗金失败后，王重阳掘地穴居，称之活死人墓，以方牌挂其上，书云：王害疯（王自称疯子）灵位。七年后，王重阳走出活死人墓，开始以另一种方式实现自己的理想。
　　金世宗大定七年（1167年），王重阳东至今山东东部传教。在宁海（今山东牟平）讲道时，他对被宋徽宗宠信的道士林灵素弄的丧失人心的传统道教进行了改造，创立了全真教。在国难当头、南渡君臣轻社稷的大背景下，王重阳举起全真教的旗帜，为的是留住中国传统文化，把传统文化保存于宗教社会、民间社会。这实属无奈之举。
　　王重阳在山东传教过程中收纳了许多弟子，其中又以马钰（丹阳子）、丘处机（长春子）、谭处端（长真子）、王处一（玉阳子）、郝大通（太古子）、刘处玄（长生子）、和马钰之妻孙不二（清静散人）七人为翘楚，人称北七真，也就是我们通常所说的全真七子。
　　为什么王重阳建造的古墓要留给林朝英居住？因为当年两人打赌，王输给了林，按约定将古墓给了林朝英。
　　那么她们之间打的是什么赌？
　　丘处机道：事隔多年，先师的故人好友、同袍旧部接连来访，劝他出墓再干一番事业。先师心灰意懒，又觉无面目以对江湖旧侣，始终不肯出墓。直到八年之后，先师一个生平劲敌在墓门外百般辱骂，连激他七日七夜，先师实在忍耐不住，出洞与之相斗。岂知那人哈哈一笑，说道：你既出来了，就不用回去啦！先师恍然而悟
　　郭靖想到前辈的侠骨风范，不禁悠然神往，问道：那一位前辈是谁？不是东邪、西毒、南帝、北丐四大宗师之一罢？
　　丘处机道：不是。论到武功，此人只有在四大宗师之上，只因她是女流，素不在外抛头露面，是以外人知道的不多，声名也是默默无闻。郭靖道：啊，原来是女的。丘处机叹道：这位前辈其实对先师甚有情意，欲待委身相事，与先师结为夫妇。当年二人不断的争闹相斗，也是那人故意要和先师亲近，只不过她心高气傲，始终不愿先行吐露情意。后来先师自然也明白了，但他于邦国之仇总是难以忘怀，常说：匈奴未灭，何以为家？对那位前辈的深情厚意，装痴乔呆，只作不知。那前辈只道先师瞧她不起，怨愤无已。两人本已化敌为友，后来却又因爱成仇，约在这终南山上比武决胜。
　　郭靖道：那又不必了。丘处机道：是啊！先师知她原是一番美意，自是一路忍让。岂知那前辈性情乖僻，说道：你越是让我，那就越是瞧我不起。先师逼于无奈，只得跟她动手。当时他二位前辈便是在这里比武，斗了几千招，先师不出重手，始终难分胜败。那人怒道：你并非存心和我相斗，当我是甚么人？先师道：武比难分胜负，不如文比。那人道：这也好。若是我输了，我终生不见你面，好让你耳目清净。先师道：若是你胜了，你要怎样？那人脸上一红，无言可答，终于一咬牙，说道：你那活死人墓就让给我住。
　　那人这句话其实大有文章，意思说若是胜了，要和先师在这墓中同居厮守。先师好生为难，自料武功稍高她一筹，实逼处此，只好胜了她，以免日后纠缠不清，于是问她怎生比法。她道：今日大家都累了，明晚再决胜负。
　　次日黄昏，二人又在此处相会。那人道：咱们比武之前，先得立下个规矩。先师道：又定甚么规矩了？那人道：你若得胜，我当场自刎，以后自然不见你面。我若胜了，你要就是把这活死人墓让给我住，终生听我吩咐，任何事不得相违；否则的话，就须得出家，任你做和尚也好，做道士也好。不论做和尚还是道士，须在这山上建立寺观，陪我十年。
　　先师心中明白：终生听你吩咐，自是要我娶你为妻。否则便须做和尚道士，那是不得另行他娶。我又怎能忍心胜你，逼你自杀？只是在山上陪你十年，却又难了。当下好生踌躇。其实这位女流前辈才貌武功都是上上之选，她一片情深，先师也不是不动心，但不知如何，说到要结为夫妇，却总是没这个缘份。先师沉吟良久，打定了主意，知道此人说得出做得到，一输之后必定自刎，于是决意舍己从人，不论比甚么都输给她便是，说道：好，就是这样。
　　那人道：咱们文比的法子极是容易。大家用手指在这块石头上刻几个字谁写得好，那就胜了。先师摇道：我又不是神仙，怎能用手指在石上刻字？那人道：若是我能，你就认输？先师本处进退两难之境，心想世上决无此事，正好乘此下台，成个不胜不败之局，这场比武就不了了之，当即说道：你若有此能耐，我自然认输。要是你也不能，咱俩不分高下，也不用再比了。
　　那人凄然一笑，道：好啊，你做定道士啦。说着左手在石上抚摸了一阵，沉吟良久，道：我刻些甚么字好？嗯，自来出家之人，第一位英雄豪杰是张子房。他反抗暴秦，不图名利，是你的先辈。于是伸出右手食指，在石上书写起来。先师见她手指到处，石屑竟然纷纷跌落，当真是刻出一个个字来，自是惊讶无比。她在石上所写的字，就是这一首诗的前半截八句。
　　先师心下钦服，无话可说，当晚搬出活死人墓，让她居住，第二日出家做了道士，在那活死人墓附近，盖了一座小小道观，那就是重阳宫的前身了。
