天龙八部中扫地僧学怎么会有那么高的武功

　　先不说小说里的武功，只看历史和现实中武林名宿的学武之路、萍踪侠影，就不难发现，武功练到最后都会碰到一个天花板境界。内家功也好、外家功也好，无非都是内练精气神、外练筋骨皮，再加上各自的独有套路、不传绝招，似乎只要勤学苦练，加上天资颖悟，都能成为高手。但其实不然，和习练任何领域的任何一种技能一样，真正可以到达顶峰的永远是极少数，量变未必能引起质变，最后的高下之别就在于境界。何谓练武之人的境界？首先它是学武之人对自然之道的认知和证悟，以及在武学中的运用和融合，也就是所谓的心法境界。其次它从来都不是单靠练功就能精进的，必须通过世间法其他途径的综合修证方可提升。扫地僧的武功之所以高，就高在心的境界。而这个心境要达到极高层次，心净是最基本的前提。如果心术不正、心乱如麻，或贪著外物，或迷于世情那是根本练不成很高武功的，更是证悟不出很高境界的。扫地僧就偏偏凭着日复一日的本职工作，扫出一片清净之心，扫出一个妙悟之境。试想，他在扫地时一定是心无旁骛、专注工作，多脏的垃圾都要清，多重的杂物都要搬，多少的落叶都要扫，最后是青砖上的灰尘，而那些垃圾可能是香客不经意丢下的，杂物是和尚熟视无睹的，落叶是秋风无情吹落的，灰尘则是世间万象抖落的，他都无分别、无烦恼地一一去除。他在外境中清扫外物的同时，又何偿不是在内境中清扫凡尘俗虑？以最不起眼的角色，从事最不起眼的劳作，终日保持和强化这种常人无法想像的心净、知止、守静状态，他当然能在禅门更好地了悟禅机，达到无上境界。他经由观空、破相、去妄、去执的次弟达到明心见性的实相境界，翕然归于大化，才得以无为之心行有为之事，证悟武学的最高境界即无相和空性，于是才有那当世无敌的绝顶神功。
　　扫地僧在萧远山父子与慕容博父子相遇时现身，对於萧远山、慕容博、鸠摩智和天竺僧波罗星窃取少林绝技之事，点出他们在佛法修为不足之下强练上乘武功，造成他们身体上的隐疾，并以过去沉迷武学的玄澄未听取他三次提醒以至筋脉既断做为劝谏。当慕容博与萧远山欲血杀对方时，扫地僧先後将两人打至断气作龟息之眠，再透过阴阳互济让他们化解对方的内伤起死回生，摒弃戾气的两人至此明白家国讎恨、生死离别都如梦境，方才放弃仇恨、大彻大悟，决定皈依佛门，不再过问世间恩怨。之後扫地僧正在为众人说法之时，鸠摩智突施毒手，伤了段誉，扫地僧袍袖一拂，将鸠摩智推出数丈之外，鸠摩智也不敢停留，转身飞奔下山。小说描述：一个身穿青袍的枯瘦僧人拿著一把扫帚，正在弓身扫地。这僧人年纪不少，稀稀疏疏的几根长须已然全白、不知是四十二年，还是四十三年，可见为半路出家。然而少林僧人从未去注意到扫地僧，就连萧远山父子、慕容博父子一直到扫地僧说话才有所察觉，武功实在高深莫测。
